Morning sunrise awakenings

Morning sunrise awakenings

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

where still blue waters embrace the Sky

"
The feathers of Sunrise spread her wings

Artichokes lie in soft green rows of

delicious moments dipped in creamy kisses...

Rhubarb tucked in apple pies with crusts as tender as

moonlight embracing Venus the evening Star...

Rhubarb rendezvous and apple blossom promises

of a romantic Cruise on the Blue Danube...

A Meadowlark sings in gardens where

love and blue skies hold secrets of seeds

planted under a New Moon in May...

Pat, this is downright magical....the loveliness of waking up to the smell of baking in the kitchen, the starry night, the song of a meadowlark.....such intricate imagery and I loved imagining it all. I hope May is a better month for all of us! Great poem. Lydi**

Your free association style in this one reminds me of the way our minds hopscotch thru so many sensory delights . . . one minute we're looking at a rhubarb plant & the next minute we're tasting that pie & remembering when old aunt flo could still throw down some celebratory moves on a holiday. This shows a trajectory I prefer to the grinding that some revert to with an idle mind. It's amazing how a few minutes of watching the birds & wild creatures can erase an hour of scrolling thru political memes, making want to dance in our minds, if not on wobbly legs! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Such a wonderful surprise that both our latest postings have the "morning sun" in the title. You had me at the first line, so evocative of being transported via the rays of the sun into the rest of your verses! I hear that Meadowlark so clearly, send to me please a packet of those seeds . . .

Beautiful comparison between the rhubarbs and moonlight embracing Venus. I can imagine the soft sunrise of early May. It rained here recently during the dawn, and the sunrise was so spectacular when the clouds parted. Thanks for sharing such uplifting poetry! ♡

You are welcome dear Pat.
I almost got hungry reading this one. All the images had a sensuousness and peacefulness about them. This is the kind of thing we need after reading the latest accounting of the exploits of Covid-19.
