April birthdays are lavender love flowers...

Ladies of fashion wear lavender flowers 

sometimes dancing in fields of passion where 

butterflies land on sunbeams creating rainbows of  

lullabies and memories of time spent on islands 

of Ocean waves where mermaids  play and 

wait for sailors who appreciate the beauty of 

Lavender love on beaches of Je t'adore...

Ooops! I'm so far behind on my read requests, here's one from April! Well, I love that you remembered Lydia with such a powerful poof of lavender! I have 3 bushes blooming extravagantly in my front yard & after scooting by them while watering every morning, I pick up the scent on whatever I'm wearing. Your poem brings to mind -- wasn't there a book about wearing purple when I get old? I think I gave that to my mom when it first came out & now I'm about that age myself & I do wear alot of purple. Lavender is a great choice for Lydia becuz her writing is often full of passion & also she writes with a strong whiff of sensory! *smile* Fondly Scented, Margie

dear Allie... thank you for a charming review. Even adults like like to dance through fields of Lavender
and not wear masks or experience fear. I love to take walks and breathe the fresh air and feel the breeze or tiny rain drops. We now have a greater appreciation of nature and hopefully will discover a cure for the danger that is a silent thief. truly, Pat

dear Allie... you would be like Tinkerbelle.... I love the version where Tinkis small like a "fairy" and has temper tantrums. I have been really lucky so far not to be exposed to the CoronaVirus. I think we are still in shock that this could happen. Neverland would be an Ideal escape. Some scientists feel that heat will discourage the Virus.... but then there will be Winter ... I do agree... fantasies are helpful to keep your mind healthy. Stress can be a killer also. Let's listen the Performer "Train" when he sings, Have you been to the Milky Way ? (and so forth). Have you heard the words... my favorite. Enjoy. gently,Pat

I like the idea of being a fairy, and I love Tinkerbell. She has spunk. Neverland would be a great escape from this virus, but even before all of this it would have made a great escape.

dearest Cherrie... Lavender has been special since ancient times. I just read on Google that Lavender is native to the Western Mediterranean region; Middle East; and India. Inbiblical texts Lavender is often referred to as Spikenard (from the Greek name for Lavender. I bought some Burbee seeds recently an will sow them in a sunny area. I can't say I have a "green thumb", but sometimes, I try. Thanks for reviewing Lydia's birthday poem. You and your son and family are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. Lovingly, Pat

Hi Cherrie... I cannot think of anything better than Lavender; however Rose petals and Peonies, as well as wisteria do have a lovely scent. Lavender most likely is easier to use for medicinal purposes and also for scenting drawers and rooms. I read that in the 16th and 17th centuries, the women who washed linens and clothes often would lay them over Lavender plants and/or bushes so they would adsorb the scent of Lavender. gently, Pat
