Borrowed Time

Borrowed Time

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

My heart is beating like drums

on the edge of borrowed time...

Where butterflies sip on Allium globes

as Tanagers fly close by...

Clematis climbs on the trellis

of my heart where love abides...

The Sun sets breathlessly...

Summer Tanagers nest within

my garden grove where love remains...

Soon your garden will be transformed. The coldness of winter will slide into spring and summer. Your garden will become a delight of colour and fragrances and will welcome the return of feathered friends and creatures who do not appreciate winter's reign. We are on the cusp of spring and I am excited for what lies ahead. My heart beats out its drum for what is to come. A lovely visual write Pat for lovers of nature. So poetically conveyed.

ah Patricia, dreaming of springtime and your gardens flowering again... when it is so cold (17 degrees last night) and the warmth of coffee is being sipped, I am right there with you.... right now my garden is covered in snow, but soon I will have to go out there to till the soil and pull weeds... I love playing in dirt... lol

You have so much time left in this world, Pat....you are young at heart. I can see you are looking forward to springtime when the birds will be chirping outside your window and the pretty flowers will be in bloom. The imagery here is splendid. Yes, love remains....even in the cold bleak winter. Lydi****

A man or a woman are as old as they feel. Obviously you feel energetic and blooming with the beautiful roses. Your cup ovefloweth with garden delights and sensations. Kudos.

Welcome.......
Seeds of love will always be planted in your garden, even when they haven't germinated yet. Eventually it will become a rose.

What beautiful sentiment you expressed here.
