Reindeer Rendezvous

Reindeer Rendezvous

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Dancing on roof tops... prancing for Joy

"
Fireside chats and gentle laughs

Warm puppies sleeping... cherrie pies baking

Tea kettles whistling... Mother knitting sweaters

for snowy winter weather... like birds in feathers

Moon flirting with the North Star... a chorus of snowflakes

falling on Roof Tops... where children dream of the

sound of Reindeer dancing with silver silouettes of

a Sleigh full of Toys and secret gifts of promises kept

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night...

well well well, thank you, Pat.
you brought me back to my childhood....and those great fantasies of Santa being real...and Christmas being just like what you describe here...we had many white Christmases up north when i was young.
but i was such a dupe....even when i believed in Santa....we had no Chimney...

As I finish my first cup at 7 am, perusing my newsfeed for the first time, how could I NOT click on this poem first, with a title that feels irresistible? I love how you combine the indoor signs of the season, along with dynamic outdoor scamperings -- great details! I remember, in my youthful OCD, thinking every pitter-patter in the night must be those frisky reindeer dancing on the roof again! *wink! winK!* Fondly, Margie

ahhh Patricia, all these childhood memories and for some of us remain intact still, why just last night I swear I heard Santa telling his elf workers there were only 17 days till liftoff, makes an old grinch bah humbug like me mellow and believe again... so what did you ask Santa for this year??? I asked for a big yellow Tanka dump truck, like the one my brother and I sat on and rode down the back ally way back when...

nicely written Patricia and Happy Holidays to you and yours...

A very timely write, Pat, with Xmas on the horizon....

The way you described the season is reminiscent of the days of old when Xmas was truly full of spirit and the idea of giving to one and all, selflessly. Sadly today it seems have morphed into a consumerist nightmare with the true spirit and meaning of it increasingly being overlooked. One can always hope that Xmas will be as exciting as you have written.

A lovely write, Pat, and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

That last line... I'd get rid of "happy holidays" and replace it with "to all a good night". It wraps things up in a more phonetically and aesthetically pleasing manner I think... but I've been wrong before.
