Reindeer Rendezvous

Reindeer Rendezvous

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Dancing on roof tops... prancing for Joy

"
Fireside chats and gentle laughs

Warm puppies sleeping... cherrie pies baking

Tea kettles whistling... Mother knitting sweaters

for snowy winter weather... like birds in feathers

Moon flirting with the North Star... a chorus of snowflakes

falling on Roof Tops... where children dream of the

sound of Reindeer dancing with silver silouettes of

a Sleigh full of Toys and secret gifts of promises kept

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night...

well well well, thank you, Pat.
you brought me back to my childhood....and those great fantasies of Santa being real...and Christmas being just like what you describe here...we had many white Christmases up north when i was young.
but i was such a dupe....even when i believed in Santa....we had no Chimney...

A pleasant word picture for the Christmas season. Made me think of a Norman Rockwell painting.

i used to dream of those reindeer actually dancing on our roof, hoping the roof would hold all of them plus the sled..with the big guy on it.
and i would lie there listening to the chorus of snowflakes...
Christmas was so wonderful as a kid in the 50's and early 60's---and in NY we had a really big roof on our five story apartment.
your Christmas poems are making me dance...

Reindeer games on rooftops. On Christmas eve, anything might happen. An enjoyable poem for the holidays. It makes me want to put on some present wrapping, cider sipping, fudge making, stocking hanging, tree decorating Christmas music. :)

Reading this makes me think of Christmases long ago. From the warm puppies to mothers knitting it reminds us of gentler times when as children we still viewed Christmas and the world in general with amazement. A time of year when anything seemed possible. Thank you for sharing your beautiful words and encouraging a walk down memory lane, Pat.
