Evening Tide of Ocean Dreams

Evening Tide of Ocean Dreams

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Ocean dreams where Oyster shells come adrift with the Tide...

"
The rise and fall of a lover's heart...

Evening tides that tickle toes and flows

where love can lie close to the base of a cliff

where feelings entwine on the sound of waves

against the caves of undiscovered lust borne

in sand dunes where pearls have rubbed against

an oyster shell where Roses grow in shades of

trusting entanglements... forever the scent of love.

I can't think of imagery that is more fitting for picturing the power of love. Just ask the shore with its caves and sometimes-scoured beaches. Great imagery for how love can hollow us out, cover us back up, & twist us around . . . all while we're thinking: ECSTASY! *smile* Fondly, Margie

Ah, this was like a sultry perfume of sand and sea beckoning the reader to a seaside romance. Exquisite for me, I'm a huge lover of the sea...so much, the moon may be jealous of me...he is always pulling at her, isn't he? :)

Nearness to the sea, it's hypnotic rise and fall, the swelling and ebbing waves never fails to create that powerful primal pull. What better way to celebrate love than amidst the immense beauty of the life sustaining ocean. Your words have such depth of emotion and passion. My compliments on the delightful imagery, dear Pat.

A poem that was a pleasure to read...You are most welcome, dear Pat.
Dear Pat,

I thoroughly enjoy beautiful love poetry that flows and grows into a sensual theme ~ adding the rise and fall, the undulations of the ocean, the thrusts of its waves into secluded caves, filling every niche with the lust of evening tides, turns it into a romantic dream poem that subtly, but surely, reveals the author's own depths of passion … embracing, luring the reader's imagination to follow every foaming trickle of desire's warming emotion.
Well, what can I say, but that you've inspired me with the enthrallment of your words and that picture of powerful surges in imagery is sooo inviting.
And, "the scent of love" never fell from a sweeter breath … a most delectable write.

Thank you, Dear Poetess, for this scintillatingly rousing moment shared.
Hugs to you, Pat ⁓ Richard 🍃

Ah, the shoreline....where the ocean kisses the sand and lovers hold hands in the moonlight. Such a lovely romantic scene you created here, Pat. Lydi**

There is something so very romantic about the ocean and your words bring it all home so beautifully. I especially like the first two lines where you compare a lover's heart to the rise and fall of the tides. The symbolism and images you share throughout the entire piece are just magnificent. One can tell you are a romantic at heart Pat.
