My Parrot and I see eye to eye... 

We are relaxed and ready to have 

conversations on many developments... 

especially when it comes to politics.  

Why we should put our right hand on 

our heart when listening to Taps 

on Veterans Day... 

According to my Parrot named Wise... 

it is the proper protocol to follow... 

and show respect for all the Veterans 

who have fallen for our freedoms bestowed... 

Wise has listened quietly to Cable TV and 

gathered his own ideas that would promote 

the choice of a President who knows the 

Precidents set to determine the outcome 

of most controversies encountered... 

He has listened to our Pros and Cons shared 

under duress and knows how to intervene... 

with a brain to sort out what is deemed to be 

the Law of the Land by which we should stand...  

Bravo to our feathered friends who have the 

wherewithal to compromise when the truth be told 

in closed and open inquisitions to determine our fate...  

There will be a fair and unprejudiced solution of 

unparalleled advantage when Congress once more convenes.

I love your tongue-in-cheek political prescription that doesn't get into fomenting & blaming. We have plenty of that swirling around. What we need is to project a pathway forward . . . upward & outward from the stalemate we've been caught in, and the path you describe sounds better than any of those currently vying for prez *wink! wink!* I find it interesting how you use "Parrot" of all birds . . . with it's negative connotation which parallels how some people feel about politicians. Yes, there are some bad parrots doing some bad parroting, but all in all, who else is willing to stand up & be the targets of our endless fomenting? Can't we accept the parroting aspects of politics while also keeping an eye on outcomes more than the blathering that goes along with the game?!?!? I don't know. Pat, this demonstrates an incredibly clever imagination... and more. What came to mind after reading this poem twice is the enduring nature of simplemindedness, and how we must appear to other species. Wouldn't it be wonderful to share language with birds, dogs, cats, etc.? I wonder what they'd say after so many hours of Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, and listening to us talk about politics. We have sacrificed a lot of lives to fight for freedoms that make a democracy a successful way to govern.
Let us pray that intelligent people will find a way to

I agree, Pat. I spent 25 years in federal law enforcement, including nearly 8 years with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In short, despite the best efforts of the men and women on the "front lines," we're failing to secure our borders, and our elected "leaders" seem less interested in the rule of law than the next election.
