How lovely your words are, Pat. Summertime, palm trees, and coconuts.....absolutely dreamy! I could almost hear that nightingale's song. My mom's favorite song was, "a nightingale sang in Berkeley square" and it made me think of that. As always, a pleasure to read your words, my friend. Lydi**

reading draws out feelings of love, warmth, serenity and contentment .. i especially like your Blue Birds nesting on the breast of Summertime ... brilliant language me dear ... superb poetic tooling says i! :) fall is barely beginning to end here in the Ozarks and winters are short and sweet ... but longing for those summer days is always on the mind when wind and cold combine ;)

It's scorching heat and fires burning all around in this land down under, Pat. We really could use some coconut trees and a cool Summer breeze to take us all away from here. I guess the lovely imagery and words of your poem will have to suffice.
Fine and delicately worded writing, as always.

A beautiful description of a peaceful setting, one which I have never visited.
You gave me a guide for my imagination.

There are many places where I'm in awe of your word-crafting: "an emerald on the ocean blue" . . . and just about every other line, too! I love how this really feels like a lullaby meant to soothe someone's hurting heart. I love how convincing you are, about the healing powers of soaking in nature's splendor. I haven't been around coconut palms much, but now I feel moved by their dreamy sway! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

This poem and the vivid imagery transported me to time and place far away, much more pleasant than the mid-South in early November. I'm also reminded of a suggestion years ago from a friend who told me to imagine one place where I was truly at peace, calm and happy, if even a short time. He said think about that place when your down. That's what came to mind here, a beautiful place to escape, if only in a few words and artwork. Thank you for carrying me to this wonderful place this morning, Pat.
