Scottish Castles of Haunted Dreams

Scottish Castles of Haunted Dreams

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

As I wander the Highlands of Scotland...

my lost love calls out to me near the

sea coast where once we lived and spent

moments of soft and lustful waves that

settled on the quiet and gentle earth

where Heather and thistle flowers birth...

We embraced the view of rugged mountains

where Red Deer roam and Eagles rule the skies...

The deep blue Lochs and empty Glens where

we danced among the sunny spells and

dark shadows that move over the hills...

A mystical feeling haunts my dreams...

You choice of gorgeous places and settings are a mirror of your immaculate taste but with down to Earth dimensions. Your desires and longings here are very true and touching. I'm always fascinated by castles, legends and places. May your dreams come true.

This is one of my dream destinations, and your poem immortalizes the beauty that I already know to be. You are so lucky to have such memories.

As with Gene (noodle), I find myself feeling echoes of other favorite writers at the cafe (Ken Simm & alanwgraham come to mind) who cherish & immortalize their Scottish lands with great poetry . . . your poem goes right up there with the best of them, Pat! I love how you weave feelings of romantic love with the love of one's surroundings using vivid details for all the senses! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
