Ken Simms is working on a pictorial poem and has been gypsying around those Highlands too .. ;) the red deer, the lochs, sunny spells, dark shadows all spring feelings and images into me nog :) my mother's Da's side is from those highlands ... i always feel the pull of them ... hmmmmmmmmm maybe some day right!? :)) i'm a fan of enjambment .. i think you have used it just right to create that broken emphasis that works so well ... love and peace Pat!

This is so lovely and romantic. Transportive and rich. I have never been to Scotland but am a fan of the Outlander series. You make a girl wish for a little time among the heather, Brava:)

(I am adopted but have since met my birth family) I learned My family is from Scotland and Ireland the scottish side moved to Maine and were seamen and whalers and the Irish were indentured servants in the late 1700's in Virginia so we have been here a long time:) Till then I will savor these poems and this one was a very fine picture

I know that place, Pat ! You've reminded me of its near holy atmosphere and the reverence i have for it. There's extraordinary ancient air around the person who visits the glens and then for as long a while as possible, looks up at the mountains and realises that this is the place to be.. but quietly, ever happily. (Ignoring the midges, of course!)
Your poem is beautiful, mood peaceful, language lovely!
