Rhythm of Life

Rhythm of Life

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Haunting music of the soul

"
Middle C is really where we begin to learn...

There are flats and sharps in variations...

Playing with both hands composing harmony

Expressions of melancholy and dreams where

possibilities occur...

Movements of moments where feelings collide...

Violins play in delicate persuasion and

the drums softly seduce the rhythm of the night...

while cymbals bring a conclusion to the  finale.

life begins, life varies in what it throws at us, and we attempt to reach a harmony within and without, many possibilities...feelings collide with others and within ourselves...
a delicate balance...plays into the night...
and then with a bang...we are gone...
wonderful metaphor here.

well done Pat! i have never before read a more clear, thorough, description of classical music .. without an understanding of movement, arrangement, variation etc. .. its a little hard for many to really appreciate it...and i love the crashing cymbals ...led up to by a tympani ... so... you are teasing not telling who it is you were listening to ..or can you hear it in your head??

You are welcome dear Pat. I love music.
I think and feel that You mean by the Middle C the Core, the heart, the middle center of our chakras, where life flows, where the sound of life beats, it's our challenge to make it beating in balance and in harmony with the mind, Your words are deeply meaningful and influential for those who read behind it, what makes it even special, Your gentle loving style hiding in its tides that brilliance of life and living.

Music is always the accompaniment to your lives. It is a melody that must be harmonious for all of us to be happy and peaceful. Great metaphor here, Pat.....when the cymbals hit the finale, we know the concert has ended. You are on a roll, my friend. Lydi**

Orchestral musings. Music plays a large part in this dance. Hopefully that first cry after birth is in High C
and as we move through the flats and sharps we learn that practice will always be required to fulfill the dreams and push the possibilities.
Those quiet moments are best if shared.

Lovely metaphor, Patricia.
A very good write.

Music is a big part of my writing life. When I get ready to write something, I imbue myself with music for a while, first. Your poem is a great way to show how this happens, but not focusing on some specific genre or song (as many "music" poems harken to a song). Your poem opens us up to the possibilities by embracing the universe of different musical ideas & symbols . . . conveying the spirit of music, more than the defining characteristics of a single song (even tho I also writing about a single song!) I love your opening with "middle C"! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
