there is an opulence and over doing it when it comes to fireworks and the 4th ... i appreciate your "theft" of amber waves of grain ... i think it really works well .. very conjuring for me .. and i could not agree more with the sentiments expressed .. we need a new and revitalized spirit ... appreciation of just what those great men and women did in birthing a new nation can never be underplayed ... every nation in the known world at the time was ruled by a King and his armies ... never had anything like our balance of power been thought of let alone launched ... we loose that these days me thinks ... the masses seem to think our government is some entity that needs pilfering ... and maybe there is some truth to that .. hmmmmmmmmm i love the USA .. i truly do ... but i'm worried about Her as well .. thanks for sharing your poem ... i find it inspiring and real

A beautiful image to accompany your golden words Pat. Your lines especially written for the 4th July. It seems there is much that needs to be improved at the moment. I hope you get the new birth and intensity of spirit that you and many others desire. All good wishes to you from across the pond.

I love the isles of the United Kingdom. I believe poetry keeps many of us more open to a brighter future. No matter what the Politics may be... someone can create poetry that is very healing.
In high school we had a wonderful English Literature teacher who instilled in us the meaning of so much
poetry and works written across the pond. You do indeed live in the ambience of theatrical endeavors and poetry that holds life in a cradle of longevity.
I believe our founding fathers had excellent clairvoyance in the documents they provided, however, we need to compromise and come together with a new birth of Spirit. truly, Pat

a "Cross Roads" not knowing exactly which way it will go. We have been so care-free when perhaps we could have done more. It is not too late... if only we ask ourselves, what can I do. If our hearts are kind and forgiving... anything is possible. But just how many will it take to make a difference. truly, Pat

The entire poem fills me with the same feelings of freedom and waywardness as an open field. I really liked the expression "We fervently need a new birth with intensity of spirit... " Every nation needs new births, as in new innovations and amendments because with each passing year, societies change, and so should the rules they are made to follow. Only then can a nation breathe and stay alive.

Other countries need to set up their own Declarations... not necessarily change our Declaration and/or Constitution. America has a system in place to make changes and it has worked
for many years. We welcome people from other countries, but they must follow the order of the law to do so. We are still fighting for what we believe.
We need to renew our Spirit... not change the documents, unless proven in Court that there needs to be a change. Thank you for your review and encouragement. truly, Pat
America wouldn't be what it is without the sacrifice so many made. I think about that all the time when I see clueless kids walking around.

When I was in grade school, we studied agriculture and in high school we learned about Inventors who discovered cures. Perhaps communities should Protest for the proper Curriculums in schools, in order for young people to know what is essential to a good healthy life... and stir a desire to be Innovators and inventors, as well as doctors and teachers, and so forth. Of course we will always need Artists and Musicians, as well as Writers and poets and so forth.

Sometimes wonder if politicians do look back. Think if they did they would realise the bloody poor job they are doing. But freedom is hard fought and must never be forgotten.

Simply listening to the Media from both sides does not influence the true feelings of the Voters. We want a country with prosperity where Government does not dictate what we do and think. We need freedom of religion, and to keep "History" alive and be reminded of what was right and perhaps what was wrong. These are a few of the things Americans want. truly, Pat

Yeah, democratic countries do seem to have this hidden dictatorship below the surface.
Such an uplifting poem but aspirational given the state of the earth as it stands at the mercy of man and evolution and what lies beyond our current comprehension.

I am not certain how so much Evil has infiltrated our world (in view of evolution). I feel there is more to heaven and earth than we can ever fathom. If only the beautiful Spirit of people could come together to create a better environment to raise our children and their children. Prayer is what we wish for... and perhaps wishes can come true.
