Sycamore Breeze

Sycamore Breeze

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

When Sycamore Leaves feel the Breeze the seeds fall forth...

"
She saw the Stars dance across the Milky Way...

she felt his presence every Summer's day...

His blue eyes held Secrets of pleasure and

untold lullabies of thunder and tender touches...

When the wind blew gently through the Sycamore tree

across the southern shore, she knew his words...

       Je t' adore... forevermore ...

Dedicated to Zuella and Elliott... they grew up together as
their Mothers were best friends... they went through school
together... they married after high school and
had two sons and (a daughter who had two sons).
They will always be sweethearts together....
p.s. At age 67, Elliott had a heart transplant of a 37 year old
young man...  the heart lasted sixteen years and at the age of 84 years,
Elliott passed... but his seeds were scattered under the Sycamore.

This is a great poem with a memorable story! Wow! I love sycamores & it's pretty breezy here all the time, so I very much relate to your Sycamore Breeze! I am also of the mind that such caresses from nature feel as if they are coming from a departed loved one, an angel that follows us around & keeps us company. The long history these two enjoyed together is something I cannot imagine, so I thank you for sharing & infusing your poem with the spirit of their devotion (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Wow. The poem and the explanation together are just magnificent. What a story! Zuella and Elliot had such a life. (And he, an unforgettable end) Surely, their spirits will one day inhabit the universe.

Patricia, I’m so grateful you placed the “real story” after your poem. I had images and thoughts after reading the poem, but the story gave your poem faces, hearts and evidence of long-lasting love. A wonderful piece. Thank you for sharing.
