Earth Day Blessings

Blossoms sing in wind and rain

Cherry blossoms have fallen 

covering the ground in a blanket 

of comfort bestowing pure love... 

Easter has left colored eggs in the grass 

and heaven awaits earth day at last... 

Planting trees to grow into rain forests 

where giraffes can nibble on leaves and 

birds can nest in the boughs of passion sweet.  

Rejoice and sing lullabies of rebirth as 

Mother Earth celebrates the beauty of 

International hope for people everywhere... 

We care and provide the growth of love.

so lovely Pat! well said .. read it out loud .... i live int he Ozark Mountains and our forests have recently exploded in all their greenery .. its so dramatic one can see it from moment to moment almost ... never would have made the connection between fallen Cherry blossoms and hidden Easter eggs on the ground .. that is so cool ... we have a couple of flowering Pear trees out front that lost their petals about a week ago ... and its like snowing flowers for a few days ... really enjoyed reading your poem .. took it straight to me ol' heart!

dear E... it is amazing how rain and sunshine can tease buds to spring forth in moments of ecstasy before our eyes... whether it is in the Ozark Mountains or in Virginia by the Rappahannock River. Snowing flowers for a few days is a grand way of

So sorry Gene... that your Grand Da lost an arm in the process of working in a gold mine. My grandfather Dave died of black lung working in the Coal mines of West Virginia... when I was nineteen years old. I will die for lack of words and rhyme, however, it was worth the time. yes, Jacob, Mother Earth has unconditional love... and keeps on giving. Love is reciprocal, so we wish all the others well.... I am always pleasantly surprised when someone returns my admiration. It is the little things that matter... even a smile. When I set out shelled peanuts for the squirrels, the blue jays and crows also fly away with a peanut in the shell... perhaps hiding them on Easter for their fledglings. Thanks for your birthday wishes ... birthday celebrations inspire me to live to be ninty or so and them dream my last dream with a smile.

dear Cherrie.... April is a month of blossoming... but then we, like blossoms can bloom all through the year. Australia down under may have autumn when we have spring. However, renewal and rebirth is never out of style. dearest Neville... every year in April, Earth Day is the day before my Birthday. It simply blends with my innate love of the earth and all its mysteries.... from flowers to gems embedded in the earth for hundreds of years. I awoke at four pm on my birthday April 23 and discovered your delicious review fragrant with the scent of Gardenias to celebrate another year at the Writers Cafe with gentle tears of appreciation. Our Crepe Myrtle trees are forming lovely green leaves that will form perfect blossoms of pastel pink and shades of red and magenta to last through late summer. We are blessed. May your season be a reason to rejoice. truly, Pat
