Blue Roses of Christmas

Blue Roses of Christmas

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Blue dreams of memories

"
A blue moon hovers across an ocean of dreams

where sweet memories in blue lights shine for thee...

As snowflakes settle on evergreen trees

a bluebird whispers I love the stars that twinkle...

Once upon a Christmas past when wise men

travelled from far away places to follow a

Star of hope and joy and Noel peace...

The Angels sang Hallelujah to a new born King

and shepherds watched over the Manger...

We pray for all the children who need the warmth

of love and caring at this time of Blue Roses unearthed.

Your poem is a beautiful and evocative reflection on the power of love and the importance of cherishing the memories that we hold dear. The way that you use vivid imagery and poetic language to evoke the spirit of the holiday season is both powerful and moving, and I think your poem captures the essence of what it means to be a thoughtful and compassionate person in a way that is both insightful and inspiring. Your use of metaphor and symbolism is particularly effective, and I think it speaks to the resilience and beauty that can be found even in the most challenging of circumstances. Overall, I think your poem is a beautiful tribute to the power of love and the importance of holding onto hope even in the darkest of times.

So many children suffering at this time of year Pat and it is most fitting that they should be remembered particularly at Christmas. Your blue roses, blue moon and bluebird touch this reader with sadness. I enjoyed the nativity you gave me, reminding me of the true meaning of Christmas. I send you all good wishes.

Thank you dear friend and Merry Christmas
Yes, it may be a blue Christmas for many of those less fortunate and we remember especially the children who are in dire need of even the basics of life. A very moving write that reminds us that the true meaning of Christmas centers around the birth of a baby whose spirit of unconditional love and forgiveness remains with us even today. Love the spirituality behind each and every word, Pat.

dear Emma... “children who need love and caring at this time of blue roses unearthed” is my favorite line. I wanted to write about blue lights and blue roses... the beauty of Christmas, but also the “feeling” of being blue because of the children and others that suffer in the immigration process. Life is bittersweet.
Thank you Emma for taking time to understand
and give a gracious review. Wishing you and yours a blessed Christmas filled with your favorite things and memories ... knowing you are loved by so many. truly, Pat

Such a beautiful poem.. or perhaps - prose poem Youve created a series of lovely miniatures about the Blue, The natural colour of vast sky, ifall emotional sea. The emotions of light and dark of mood, etc. You alway s have that little extra to wrap around meanings, dear Pat The Embrace of the Spirit adds that extra more than Something.. ..

I love blue moons & blue roses! I love using blue at Christmas instead of traditional red & green. I chafe watching Food Network's judges ding bakers for using blue which is "NOT FESTIVE" (they say!) You've woven blue into the meaning of Christmas in such a way, it felt like I was being seduced with a loving lilting invitation to joy. I especially relate to your final sentiments about the children . . . so many suffering around the world it breaks my heart (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

the blue rose is the perfect flower for Christmas isn't it!? wondrous pic to go with your poem Pat ... the moon always grabs my attention so your first line hooked me .. and any time the moon is blue or super or blood or any other of its more infrequent appearings ... i must read on ;) very interesting flow to this one...first three lines rhythm and rhyme and then off to more of a prose read ... read it over several times to get past the jolt :) and a very special closing for the children ... all your blue images enchant me ..
