Refuge from a Snow Storm

Refuge from a Snow Storm

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Quiet snow falls on the winter of my heart

"
Your smile is like the prevailing wind...

It draws me in like a
bee to clover...

I dream of you knocking on my door...

when cold winds blow
against my window pane...

And in the morning light I see

snowy footprints in the hall where
you found refuge after all...

Beatiful words Pat. We all need shelter from the storm at some point in our lives, where warmth and comfort becomes more important than what we used to think was important, wealth. Perhaps you need to be welcomed out of a storm to see that though.
You put that into words so well.

What a lovely romantic write this is. Dreamy....your fantasy man comes to see you on a snowy night. I am sure you would not mind the footprints in the hallway. A warm hug of a write. Lydi**

A beautiful poem Pat, I imagine you welcoming those from the storm. We all need shelter, particularly when vulnerable. May I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving. Be happy.

mmmmmmmmmmwarm and comfort in the closing Pat ... winters moon outside in crisp, cold contrast .. i like the use of spacing in your lines ...clear pauses for the reader ..and the enjambment in L1 of last couplet is perfect in its effect says i! i'm just kind of sitting here a moment in your "refuge" ... nice one ma'am!
