Sleeping in a meadow of flowers

Wandering carefree through sunshine beams 

brushing against flowers embracing the day 

wanting to find the scent of easy prey... 

When night falls and passion pursues the moon 

the longing will play a familiar tune of Claire de lune 

as I guide you to my seaside private cave... 

Whereas the stars shine sweetly over the soft 

waves of the windswept sea where once 

your ship had anchored in the cove of love... 

I have found my purpose of being here 

with the scent of summer rain and love's gain 

clinging to Midsummer's dream that you will stay

We use to have a mom who would bring here kits up to the yard. She brought them at night and they would dance around the fringes of the light..
We hoped she would return the next year but we only seen her that one year.

mm dreamy, sultry wistful longing ... risky to be in love with a mariner ;) strong rhythm .. i like the tight tercet form ... the language creates freedom within that structure ... the change up in rhyme doesn't break the flow at all for me ... perhaps that is part of the free feel i get in reading .. glad i stopped and found this one Pat!
