Spring Dreams

Spring Dreams

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Bluebirds and butterflies

"
Once upon a meadow green
Butterflies sang in harmony...

Breezes of lilac and wild roses
hummed lullabies by
streams of memories...

Bluebirds flew above the clouds
like Angels on a mission of
granting wishes...

A soft rain fell upon tulips and
daffodils where Robins gather
twigs and forget me nots...

The earth smiles and the sun
winks as if new beginnings peek
from under possibilities...

All bird life and plant life waiting restlessly for the arrival of Spring. New hopes and joy abounds in anticipation.

For us in the Southern Hemisphere we are anticipating the coming of Winter, so the flowers bow down to the Gods of the Seasons, knowing that soon their time will again come to rise.

Another lovely write, Pat.

This sounds to me like a description of heaven. Perhaps others dream of something different, but the image you describe here is so personally appealing. And the great thing is that it may be found right here on earth.

Since spring is one of my two favorite seasons (I love autumn, too), I'm always trying to think of new descriptive observations to write about, to describe a springlike scene. Your poem is chock full of these kinds of unusual descriptive words & phrases! Like butterflies singing in harmony -- who thinks of these things? I love such uninhibited ideas full of beauty & grace. And this one is my favorite: "like Angels on a mission of granting wishes" -- that is so hopeful & sweet sounding. I love the way you fill your writing with tons of imagery that is unexpected!
