Violets of stolen moments

Violets of stolen moments

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

The sun rises and smiles on the
bosoms of mountains...
as the rivers flow with currents of
natures provocative libations...

Breezes sway with lullabies and
memories of lovers breath in
soft sounds of merriment...
Sweet violets of stolen secrets and
flights of butterfly dreams...

Many days of rain have brought
a sense of movement in sleeping
buds of possibility...
Birds in painted vanity appear
as though the opera of a lost paradise has
suddenly discovered sunshine and laughter...

This makes me think of those violet fields of Provence that served as the backdrop for some of Van Gogh's latter years.

"Bosoms of mountains".....such an alluring description. As always, your description of the senescent scene is lush and visual. Surely someday the floral world will bow at your feet for all these dedications to their beauty.

Another beautiful write, Pat.

How can anyone not like this? There's something about nature and renewal that lets us know even humans are capable of it. Nicely written, Pat.

You have caught the beauty of living in the countryside, Pat, where you can appreciate the changing face of nature all year round. Town life seems to always be the same. I was so glad to be able to leave London, where the only changes are more tower blocks and bizarre glass structures.

Have read this a few times now and you somehow managed to make me homesick, while I am still here :)
This sounds so much like travelling from the west of Scotland, up north to Inverness, where I used to go hiking and climbing. The violet though, would be from purple heather, which grows wild amongst the trees, giving the trunks and branches an eerie purple glow. It is such a beauti
