Birthday poem for Lydia

Birthday poem for Lydia

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Sixty four... Je 'adore...

"
Lovely as Bareroot Roses
in Springtime folly...
She gazes across the sea
where adventures lay and
dolphins play...
The moon is golden encircled
in a haze of radiant light
to celebrate the birth of
a lady of great worth...
She dreams of apricot liquor
with the man of her dreams...
Born on the fourteenth of April
she tweets like a warbler
old songs from the Beatles...
She walks on the beach
with the sanderlings...
Her name is Lydia as she
jangles her lines of poetry
in lustful words that defy time

I can't imagine waking up and wanting to write a love poem even before I lay listening for the mouse to scratch from inside my bathroom wall. Or to promulgate, by the eternal laws of love, the requisite doctrines of beauty and rightfulness. But our dear Lydia stands alone in this conviction/. As a quasi revolutionary, I question it...But as another human soul, I honor it.....Great poem Patricia.....dana

I'm glad dear friend.
our dear sweet Lydi is this and so much more... she enriches our lives with her poetry and her presence, I don't think there are enough colors or adjectives or metaphors, nor nouns and verbs that allows one to honor her... but I think your poem along with the comments of Emmajoy and Ana come close... nicely done Patricia and HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYDI!!!!
