Discovering Autumn

Discovering Autumn

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

In the early morning dawn, when earth awakens...

"
Dew drops on persimmon leaves with specks of gold
she pauses to sip the beauty bestowed...
flowers entwined in her strawberry blond hair
she caresses the day with a touch of a butterfly wing...

Blue skies and pink clouds dance in the soft rain
as she sings a lullaby in sweet refrain...
dreams come to life as feathered friends chirp
Brahms lullaby in tune with nature's quest...

A very lovely poem.

One can picture this birth of a new day very clearly in the mind. Your words are very delicate and described the vision very well. It made me somehow think of Snow White walking amongst all the beauty.

A very visual and sensual poem. And a beautiful picture accompanying the poem as well.

Thanks friend :)
Beautiful, "she pauses to sip the beauty bestowed," as does the reader of this poem in his/her mind. This poem is so delicately beautiful, such beauty and imagery in such simple words. :)

Wow, I love the very first line of your poem
"Dew drops on persimmon leaves with specks of gold "
Now that's capturing the best autumn view in nature and putting together in words.
Your poem made my imagination run creating the nature.
I liked it and very well written Patricia.
Regards,
Anjali

Gorgeous tools of picture-taking you employ in words and emotions. A celebratory mood that rings the bells of timelessness and swings to the eternal majesty of the present. An excellent penning. ....:::))))

'Dew drops on persimmon leaves' - you captured me with that very first phrase..

I've wondered before and now must ask: Do you paint? You clothe your phrases with something extra, a hint, a clue, a deep or light tone...a difference that makes me, for certain, pause, sometimes close my eyes and see and feel what you've seen. This is lovely, Patricia, truly lovely.

i feel a slight chill with this one...and embrace it...because it is refreshing...and when this kind of a day arrives here where i live...it's a golden lullaby with perfect azure notes.

on the other hand, some of us are discovering our autumn of life...and even though it means we are getting older...there is something fragrant about the wisdom and serenity that comes with having survived all the winters and summers we have to this date...
