A Wilder Life

A Wilder Life

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

A seasonal apothecary as nature provides enough flowers and herbs to detoxify the body...

"
Nature provides a wealth of healing for
the mind and body ...
From flowers and herbs there are
calming teas...

Amethyst brings peace to lovers
heart and soul...
Romance and love petals
dance in preludes of birdsong...

Perfume is gathered from
essential oils of magnolia,
rosemary, lavender,
jasmine, rose and spice...

A wealth of intimacy and romance
may grow in your very own garden ...
Seasons of beauty and eternal blessings
with the pardon of sunshine and rain...

This was a very poetic piece. Lines like "Romance and love petals, dance in preludes of birdsong" really highlighted the vibe of the poem. Personally, I think it'd have more of an impact if the statement wasn't so general and was tightened up a bit. But if you just wanted to write and paint a picture, you accomplished that. Thank you for sharing.

I love how you share this information in such a flowing & glowing way, your choice of language is alluring. The way your words sing with persuasion is a demonstration of how the natural elements can also beckon to us. Not only do I like to use natural elements, but also I feel the essence of my special place here, when I ingest something that has grown wild here (like acorns) *smile* Great poem! Very nice idea for a write. It is a miracle how man learned to use God's creations to feed, clothe and cleanse humans. Valentine

I agree and you welcome Pat.
very peaceful and sensual write...calming..

love the last line..."the pardon of sunshine and rain"

intermittently we are absolved of our vanity and perhaps of our lust...but they return just as perennial flowers do..

love this write. Pat.

Tisn't just the contents that heal but the words themselves. You've written with a gentle and soothing pen, Patricia.. it's beautiful from start to finish. As a horticulturist, etc.. i love to see and feel how people turn to the natural world and discover then kindly use its wonders.. They give so willingly, , as you have, thank you..
