Life has loveliness to sellA Poem by Patricia HernandezA poem about drugs, and the unnatural escape they offer to those in desperation.Life has loveliness to sell
For all those whose happiness is
virtually nonexistent, Whose troubles suffocate them all
day, Or for those whose life is so
brilliant, People who get everything their
way, These groups may seem so opposite, But they have things in common
indeed, They’re both alone and troubled, These people scream a silent
plead, And finally something comes to the
rescue, A quick way out of misery, Because they have to buy happiness, So their past becomes a mystery, Life has loveliness to sell, For those who buy it, it comes in
a bag, Perhaps in an injection, Or an alleviating drag, Many people have it easy, Happiness wraps around them like a
hug, But for others, who rarely see daylight, Their brief happiness depends on these
drugs. © 2014 Patricia HernandezAuthor's Note
