Simple Plan

Simple Plan

A Poem by Pathetically Beautiful

Something so simple.

A plan.

A hope.

The promise that everything will be alright.

Small words.

Meaningful in the upmost time of despair.

The reckless optimism that ruins another’s expectation.

Rage.

Pain.

Empty in the void of something simple.

Broken things.

Shattered dreams.

A numb sensation.

False, in the pretense of faith.

Anger, judgement, guilt.

"Shut up!"

Selfish needs misled.

Askew: crooked, caddy-wampus, and warped.

Priorities of countered plans.

Aspirations of the likelihood to pure freedom.

Confusing in the simple ways of truth.

Lies and hidden things untold.

Withheld from the close.

Voices of doubt.

"Don’t let go!"

What is emptiness?

Time consuming in the least.

Time.

Waiting.

A knot in the heart of the clock.

Tangled prospects of the end.

I thought I had reviewed this already, but I guess not. I love the opening lines:

Something so simple.
A plan.
A hope.
The promise that everything will be alright.
Small words.
Meaningful in the upmost time of despair.

And then the way tone changes and the reader is taken through a journey of pain.
