I have Loved---

I have Loved---

A Poem by Patches I'm not so new anymore.

A poem for my Lady in the troubadour style

"

Love Hath Filled Mine Heart Once More

I have lived. I have loved

I have lived and loved in vain

I have said unto mine heart

Thou shalt ne’er love again.

I have survived the lonely nights

I stood the scorn and fuss.

Endured this sorrow, the petty fights

Yea even this, my shattered trust.

But love hath filled again mine heart

Love by a lady sweet and pure.

Once more, my heart has hope

For her eyes…

Her eyes reveal no blemish on her soul

Her heart is true, it holds no guild.

In her hand a rose she holds and

Proffers forth with dazzling smile.

Her rose she hath pinned upon my breast

I cried, “at last, I’ve found the Rose I sought,

long n the garden of my past, be glad mine heart

so long to heal I live now but for her sake!

Ah my queen,

mine heart’s Regina how see

mine happy tears do flow.

Thy lips I wouldst dare kiss

as I clasp mine Rose to breast.

Heaven doth not contain mine bliss!

Thy compassion, hast gave mine heart

new blud, a hope that even such as I may

be made worthy of a love that will not die.

Both our hearts wilt grow, willt thrive as

long as mine Rose is by mine side.

This is really old style poetry and I love it. I too have been there, done that. Now my heart is filled with love for the woman of my life for the past 22 years.
