We Will Always Have Paris*

We Will Always Have Paris*

A Poem by Patches I'm not so new anymore.
"

Said in a conversation between the poet and his lady written as a sonnet. I leave the reader to decide who said it.

"

Do not mourn when I am gone

I would not mourn for you

I would remember how we loved

while the roses bloomed.

I will remember how we laughed

and like a sonnet rhymed

and together lived and loved

in our own springtime.

I will not in winter weep

for those days of yore.

No! I shall not wish again

for what has gone before.

But will remember our spring

until I breathe no more.

* Title is from a line spoken in the movie Casablanca

How very tenderly done this was. Spoken with a touch of sadness yet sweetness too. You so excel in these types of write Twinie.. Well done, well done indeed.

Ohh, I really loved this tender piece. The verbage is soft, gentle and flowing.
Thank you for sharing. This would be something I'd like to send to my family who lost a loved one 11 days ago. May I share your poem with them?
