A Knight and His Lady (A poem in two voices)A Poem by Patches I'm not so new anymore. The conversation in this poem may or may not have taken place As marriages were arranged years in advance and love between the principals of the marriage was usually a rare occurance.Lady: "A young knight worldly, known to be wild betrothed to a naive child."
Knight: "We were fresh married 'twas the third night, thee kissed hesitently in evening starlight."
Lady: " Thou wert gentle, patient, kind I thanked God He had made thee mine."
Knight: "As we kissed, Mon Coeur in that olden spring, I knew the enchantment wouldst never end."
Lady: " Few men, monsegneur* would have been, as understanding as thou wert then."
Knight: "Each kiss now fresh as our first, every kiss since a poet's verse!
Thy lips warm, sweet as mulled wine--- What? Oh oui J'et amie the babe's just fine."
*Monsegneur---- My lord
