"Tis Better to have Loved"

"Tis Better to have Loved"

A Poem by Patches I'm not so new anymore.
"

Cupid?

"

Love's a divine confusion.

This babe, goddess borne,

invisable as music

as certian as it's sound.

Love confounds the scolars

Philosophers don't know,

a riddle beyound solving

sages say it's so.

To gain love's favors men have gone

through wars and privatation

risked fortunes, armies, lives

and nations.

Those by love rejected

 taste only of it's gall

for death alone stills

the terrible ache

 in an unloved, empty soul.

All stanzas seem true to me, especially the last. A very steadfast poem, very romantic.

Beautiful words, beautiful philosophy.. Once again you get in the mind of one that is on the brink and bring them into your words to feel words of such beauty.

Way to go..
