candy

candy

A Poem by That one kid

growin up, my old man told me
you got to find yourself a candy bar
for when the days get long
or when walks are far
maybe when theres nothin to do
and when talkin doesnt come easy
you just grab yourself a candy bar
thats what my old man told me

well

i chose some candy for myself
candy that put reality on the shelf
it started through a small flow in my ears
slowly but surely
the candy worked with my gears
through the mouth
quite a few tears
at first
at last
bursting veins
up the nose
the candy chose my lanes
last but not least
it had ahold
candy that stole my wealth
i chose candy over myself

I guess your dad didn't expect a turn of phrase like that. Candy like that will ruin anyone, and I've seen it for myself.
