Whats a fethym?A Story by That one kidIll tell you what a fethym isFethym (fet-him) A Fethym is a small creature within us, it has two sides. It rarely comes out, maybe passing someone in the streets or walking through the store. The stronger side come out at night when all else is sleeping and you're left wide awake. Fethyms are little creatures that share a room with our brain, like siblings; always going through your thoughts, always going through your stuff, taking without asking. What is it taking? Why, it´s taking your thoughts, your memories, bending them by pure will power. The ones that come out at night are usually the ones in which make oneself turn insane, slowly, day by day, minute by minute. As the clock ticks they get louder, and louder, and louder, AND LOUDER until you cant hear yourself think. Your thoughts become someone else's, like an enemy in a foreign field. The clock ticks, tick, tick, tick. Soon you hear your very own heartbeat, bumbum, bumbum, bumbum. As they get faster and faster the fethym affects your vision as the walls grow spikes they start closing in on you at an alarming rate as if running for dear life towards you. Then, out of nowhere, it becomes silent, your vision returns, and the sunlight starts to peek through the window telling you its time to get up. You smell the bacon cooking and hear the fridge open as the footsteps grow louder and quieter like an infinite circle. You grab your bag and open the door and get ready to face the world. If the better side still represents itself, you smile at stranger hoping for one in return, maybe help someone cross the street. This side of the fethym looks for the positivity, the good left in the world, while the other gradually kills you from the inside and soon, soon it takes over your mind, then your body and before you know it, you're gone. The other side will try to show, maybe in rare moments but when it does its best to let it because after being neglected, and ignored, it will feel unwanted, like it is constantly haunted, Nurture it and it will give back. © 2018 That one kid |
