respiratory & photon 4

A Poem by Richard

waiting for your smile to come

i thought about our love

hoped it would do a trick

and out on the floral grass and dirt stained with my jeans

we watched a shuttle

it passed over the street I felt that a little bit didn't you?

as it passed over a house two blocks from yours

i got nostalgic for your shade

and the giant shadow of a shuttle

blew up your dress and made me terrified

as it passed a man who said he'd been to 30 institutions including a church

I had nothing important to say, for now

but my thoughts did somersaults and my stomach dropped like an anchor

as the shuttle passed a long forgotten fair

where the tent blew up and I finally threw up

on a hill my god

occupied by killer ants

the shuttle kept on going and little did we know

was being tested on a thousand different stars

I tried to kiss you and little did you know

I was testing my skills

I hope you approve

because like a shuttle I have no aim

and left my mark on your cheek

and a rose behind your ear curled

a butterfly beneath my chest

that's my heart

and like a shuttle wants to land soon

somewhere near your track.
