enough time has passed

enough time has passed

A Poem by Richard

Not enough time has passed

since i last held my breath

since you sent that message underwater

said "close your door on death"

and still

not enough time has passed

since i touched your lips

campaigned for all my wishes

and some of them, all but this one, were they such a risk?

not nearly close to enough time has passed

since you regained your light

lived in a world of silk

and in a dark, dark world, shined more than alright

so much time has passed and i'm now unsure

the prophecy of Shy Naked Jon

who crusaded for the complacents, the shining-star-commitments, and so much more

time will pass though and be pleased to greet them

really it should

want to kneel before them

forever

and look

neither backward nor forward too soon

refuel years down the road

and anyway

not enough of it has passed, but it hurts and won't go

airfields upon airfields enough of this breath

stuck somewhere inside me

it's yours

now i'm closing this chapter on my papercut heart

"and the door on death?"
