A Poem by Richard

the allure is just that there is everywhere

and you've been¸ and I haven't

my jealous memory

and you've been good, I recall

colorful lights they call themselves night

my stomach churns i stoke the windmill

cranking in my soul

powerful as the ships up in the sky

and the breath of God that cursed this dungeon

maybe

simple pleasures turn to sad treasure

when i ramble

when you laugh forever

and when things get too tough and I push it down

I tell it to get lost to stop to run

but i lose my nerve

and a bad day is all it takes to know we're alive

and waiting to return our hands to our baby cheeks

mine in your pockets looking everywhere how a disappearing act the passport can be

the roaring of footsteps

the church pennies

the silence of frost

is sometimes all it takes

so the swells in my throat when my eyes change mood

work for you

let me be

this is part of the allure now

and there's always going to be.
