uplift

uplift

A Poem by Richard

don't feel brave that's how you feel it's foreign no more

like something stung you all over

and you weren't near home

you've been millicent and the wind

for just one ride

crying cactus & the gunsling wallower

ok, they shot your dreams, in your dreams

a wandering snowflake and no place like home

it's not so cold anymore

you can go back

branching out in every direction

but the obvious

planted to the ground

there's frost and it traces your nose right up by your lashes

and sworn in solemn heartbeats that skip through little patches

you caught your breath

in a net

you always knew

the long road back has a story painted in the lines

the hard sky falls almost on time

it's not your time

it can't be easy

but it's not so bad
