the last excited light in the east

the last excited light in the east

A Poem by Richard

fine, a little something for the sea mucks

and those that stick to the sand in a bucket

on the shoreline

a houndstooth jacket in the mouth of a wolf

drop went saliva and reflected in always

the face of a cat

who wasn't shy but proud a little bit at all

when it was turned toward the last excited light in the east

where canyons dodge cavemouths and the indians of summer

wrap clouds in a cast

a net with a fish they do

make a burial

for brother on a cracked open dish in desperato

and it's not like the hound's tooth

and it's not like they wished

OOMHA, yes OOMHA

there was warpaint in soundshapes

and landscapes as cold as the eye could see

a dream of Chris Columbus

with Madonna of the Port Lligat

sodomized by a grand piano

at best

a fearless place

a place

called Ida

Idunno

it's where the last excited light in the east lives
