Poem

A Poem by Richard

Life is much smaller than you think

and it won't hesitate anymore

to move quickly and digest slowly

so be very unafraid

to be a hiccup in time

a bump in the road

a harbour too wide

to fit in the painting

incoming: love to you

from your brother at rest, a father now, quiet, in a cold stone party

he's not passed on just very very tired

he'll come back for you as Sun God or Cliffside Spirit

My brother?

a Desert Moon

his whole face is up there

his fuzz cheeks and big broken nose

his wise eyes twitch in the wind

and move like a bus when he passes Venus

the stylish planet

that always makes me laugh

now he's a journalist (advanced star-moving diploma)

he'll make full sentences up there

sometimes mid conversation

"I got this vibe" and "she's just too smart for me" and "I'm a round telescope"

...he's just not cut out as a circle

but he's not very square

I want to tell him it's going to be alright

but he knows

& in his own way

he cares
