Alarm Clock Mittens

Alarm Clock Mittens

A Poem by Richard

I just shuck my head
and a puff of angel powder spilled out of my hair

like a cake where the flour went wild
i find myself glancing at windows
as I pass down the street
with the most lights (means they have more christmas spirit)
and squished between some red drapes

a little girl whose rosy cheeks are pressed against the glass
her eyes closed and her cheeks puffed out
and a sweater that says
“reindeer in training
and I smile
because I had pie for breakfast

and I spend most of my time with my love
who believes in the frumpish
and has no time for rubbish
some mailboxes just don
t accept more mail
ours does
it
s food of choice: long letters from old friends on hot beaches
we just sip hot cocoa on cold benches
and find our grooves in the couch
and we kiss for a few hours
then, because it makes us happy
we do it some more
now it
s christmas eve and we have no presents
but we sure gave out a lot
we really put out on christmas
" with gifts
from our heart
for your feet
and the one thing I
m most excited about this year
is my almost brand new alarm clock mittens.

An interesting piece...very metaphorical, and yet the imagery was quite intriguing. I always like the beat and flow with which you write.
