Milk ChocolateA Poem by RichardParamour,
moon locomotive And let the
coal powered engines burn bright Buzzing out
with the flies With a full
dining set in the battle of wills that left a trail of blood which was mopped up by the flood when the boy was swept up by the mouth of the sea and the parapet crashed but that was yesterday’s news and now he stares at the girl with the diamond charm necklace that the coal had produced but he knew she wasn’t coming back so he spilt his tears in her eyes -she used to use for goodbyes he couldn’t catch them in time and now he’s packing up his bag and punching out for the day but wait the girl shivers awake and her milk chocolate eyes squint through the hair on her face she whimpers beautifully the boy stops dead in his tracks and turns and looks back and drops the pick in his hand his knees are shaking so much that he can’t even stand to see her in so much pain or confusion, all the same he climbs the ladder that never ever ends for some reason and somehow she knows his name and calls it 14 times so he fumbles to the top and he touches her hand and he gives her a kiss and it keeps him alive © 2013 Richard |
