A Poem by Richard

Keep running
run, run, run through the spirally wind tunnel, darling
take off your shoes and feel the hot lava rock melt your cold feet of ice
you’re suspended above the foundation now, dripping from yourself
see firefly races with feelers and faces
keep moving forward because there’s no going back
the giant fan lifts you up off the ground
the basement of the uncorroborated
Charlie’s war, against the pixelated
there’s three dimensions now
love, lust, and lost
in that order, damn the cost
your eyelid’s on the roof
and the tunnel pulls you in
however, it doesn’t care if you can swim
a fruit growing tree
where it should not be
tempts you to death just to pick one eat it and, well, enjoy
but keep going, darling
past the creepy red phone booth with a sinister glow
blowing papers everywhere as if it knows
that you want to stop but you can’t
because the tunnel pulls you on
and you like it
because you know
you’re on a mission, apparently
to destroy the stupid world computer
