Veronica's Space Dream Pt. 1

Veronica's Space Dream Pt. 1

A Poem by Richard

Delicate moon glass,
Peerless and mysterious,
Black and white, or pepper and salt
As the checkered bathroom floor of Venus and Mars
Or , a diamond mine in the spiral ear shaft of a Saturnalian, those lazy Saturnalianites.

Horse-eyed Doe crosses midnite railways, frightened by the headlamp of a grouchy mine-spider, built for production, not friendliness
Iced-coffee space gum, dispensed from lost Chinese earth stalls
World War II issued, probably..
Screeching chains on rattling bones, unusually upbeat time soldiers, with radio reception on the back of their tongues, channel 5 only!
News of the future? Grim and bleak.
Braquet-ball on Venus? Sorry, no can do.
Tomorrow is the great blood-orange light and dance festival of 2626, your son will be delighted!

..But tomorrow is only the yesterday of the future
Present, once a spin around the Earth’s crust, which those time soldier’s with their reliable tongue communiqué have informed us comes once a year on your birthday, hooray!
Take your lightbulbs and bang around, because lightning is rare, and toothpaste is tasteless
If it’s really your special day, PLEASE REMEMBER TO SAVE A LIFE, TAKE HOME A BABY DOE, with waterfall eyes, they’re as cute as chinchillas and twice the size ..
"No, I'll NEVER wake up!
what happened to me?"

Richard
I guess I can't help it ... I'm not a poet, not really, but I hope it's enjoyable for what it is :)
