See ya later, clear-glass avenue

See ya later, clear-glass avenue

A Poem by Richard

See you later, clearglass avenue
with your broken down memories
on the side of your street
and your parked past girlfriends
in really bad shape

Goodnight, crestwood boulevard
with the shame dripping staircase
that leads to drunk hall
where people still dance

And then kneel

Then crawl

Dear Mom and dear Dad
we’ve been tasting from life
with our tongues to the mirror
that reflects from the bar

So long Sandy, to your wild years
to your long mouth smile
permanently damaged
hangs to the side, there you go, Mr. ex-graduate
send me a letter stamped “goodbye f****r”

Or an envelope with $2 change

Deep and powerful.. "we’ve been tasting from life
with our tongues to the mirror
that reflects from the bar "

Yeah, some people just don't see that there is any importance in work, school, or just being an adult.. I have known a few that do nothing but party and sleep... One day they will look around and see all their friends have grown up without them... enjoyed this.. thank you. shallimarRose

yeah it was about a friend ...
This was very deep in a lot of ways... I know people like this; who live their lives in perpetual party mode. Reminds me of the song "Life in the Fast Lane"..."call the doctor, I think I'm gonna crash/the doctor says he's coming, but you've got to pay in cash".
