Love is The Medicine

Love is The Medicine

A Poem by Richard

I want you to know how it feels.
To be without you at the end of the day.
I want to address this blank page.
And then throw the directions away.
In the midst of the laughing blue hills.
Lies the answer in the shape of a door.
That hasn’t been opened in centuries.
But still collects dust from before.
Love is the medicine of dreamers.
And I like to think you know why.
Life is the privilege we’re given.
Where you thank those who give it a try.
Maybe I have all 6 senses.
Maybe the first five are touch.
You can see through the light frosted ego.
To whatever is left; that’s not much.
So we strip down to our cold naked thoughts.
Of each other in a city of feathers.
Like a man with a match in an alley.
We can finally ignite our passions together.

thank you :)
I guess it's a little unconventional ..
Maybe I have all 6 senses.
Maybe the first five are touch. -- really loved these lines for some reason...I can relate. Sometimes I feel as though my "senses" are improperly attuned.

Great imagery in this one, and a definite feel of angst and yet harmonious indignation. I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is power in these words, they are heavy on the outside, but they also have a sublime feel to them when you really think on the meaning and concept.

As for the flow...I think this one is perfect. So lyrical that I could almost hear the music as I was reading. Well done.
