Luv Lickza Dog

Luv Lickza Dog

A Poem by Richard

In the photograph:
an army general, the bottom half of a cook named Tom Maydo, a distressed wife (on vacation), the remains of a redwood fire, two fingerprint smudges, a 6 year old boy, and his best friend River.
One might overlook what was never there at all. Someone belongs to this photo but who, we’ll never know.
The detail in the rings of a tree
Or the great big hole in the ocean that swallows the fish.
A shooting starfish on the 44th of July.
A grim reaper with a smile.
life’s ominous perfume
dear professor angel.
surrounded by bats on airplanes; it’s not the turbulence they hate, it’s heights.
medicine man, O radiant man

Love licks the dog
one day let’s night
