Zebra IN a Tornado

Zebra IN a Tornado

A Poem by Richard

Since I was 6 & ½ years old I always wanted to see a zebra in a tornado.

A slug in a suit.
Or maybe a turtle in a toaster.
Or a pig playing piano.

Every chance I get I stare up at the sky.

I’m suspicious of the clouds, I don’t know why.

But if it ever decides to rain a row of reindeer, I’ll be that much more prepared .. like mustard in a jar!
I can’t hold back a smile from an ostrich without style.
That messy nest of music coming from the wild.
Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon enough I’ll find my zebra. Just spinning round and round. Not upset. Just spinning. It’s a ferris wheel for striped animals. They love it. And so would I.
