Zebra IN a TornadoA Poem by RichardSince
I was 6 & ½ years old I always wanted to see a zebra in a tornado. A
slug in a suit. Every
chance I get I stare up at the sky. I’m
suspicious of the clouds, I don’t know why. I can’t hold back a smile from an ostrich without style. That messy nest of music coming from the wild. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon enough I’ll find my zebra. Just spinning round and round. Not upset. Just spinning. It’s a ferris wheel for striped animals. They love it. And so would I. © 2013 Richard
