Will You Still Love Me

Will You Still Love Me

A Poem by Dara
"

Thoughts one may have as they grow older.

"

Will you love me when my
hair turns gray,
and all semblance of youth
has washed away?

If the lines on my face
appear too stark and drawn
furrowed deep upon my brow,
can one live too long?

Will we still laugh and sing
share a joke or two,
enjoy making love
like we used to do?

I only pray that time
will very slowly creep in,
allowing moments to cherish
again and again.

Love, in my opinion, is forever (or should me!) so whether it's puppy love when we're young or just holding hands as we age, love is still there in many ways...and we should enjoy every moment of it gray hair or not...nice Dara!

This one is so well expressed. The first and last stanza just completes the write. Love is an eternal feeling, I hope it doesn't fade with time and we live longer and longer to cherish it and be blessed. Thanks Dara for sharing!

Remember when we used to tell our age with fractions? Lol, those were the days. We just need to take one day at a time, and take good care of each other. I believe friendships are most important, too. Look how far we have come, Dara!

You too, sweetie!
This reminds me of the Beatles song...

"When I get older losing my hair
Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a Valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine"

I think it must be a blessing and privilige to grow old, but it's not always easy. I love your take on it.

Beauty is how we express our existence. Some people look like s**t despite being gorgeous.

You are very beautiful Dara, I do not need to know what you look like.
