London Bridge Has Fallen

London Bridge Has Fallen

A Poem by Dara
"

My title and subject came from the plan put together in the event Queen Elizabeth died. It’s code name was ‘London Bridge is Down.’

"
Her steely strength and resilience
stood the test of time.
With grace she spanned the distance
touching your life, touching mine.

Her faith never faltered
through trials and tribulation.
A seventy year long reign met
with laughter and jubilation.

Set upon a firm foundation
however strong and everlasting,
her ‘parapets’ soon gave way
to the utter dismay of the masses.

Now the Queen of Hearts
on wings of angels soars.
Her amazing legacy will live on
in our souls forever more.

Your poem is a beautiful tribute to the strength, resilience, and grace of Queen Elizabeth II, and the way that she has touched the lives of so many people around the world. The lines "Her faith never faltered, through trials and tribulation, a seventy year long reign met with laughter and jubilation" are a reminder of the Queen's unwavering commitment to her role as a monarch, and the way that she has inspired so many people with her grace and dignity. The lines "Set upon a firm foundation, however strong and everlasting, her 'parapets' soon gave way to the utter dismay of the masses" are a poignant reminder of the challenges that the Queen has faced over the years, and the way that she has always risen above them with courage and determination. Overall, I think your poem is a moving tribute to the Queen's remarkable legacy, and a testament to the enduring power of her spirit and example.

a lovely tribute to the Queen who recently passed on. Her reign was so long that the masses felt her soft touch as they grew up....she was a comfort to many... and her strength proved her well over a long period.
And, at the end she was still graceful and passed away peacefully
Nice write!

It is truly amazing to think that one monarch reigned for 70 years! Charles has big shoes to fill for sure. Everyone considered Elizabeth "their queen"...even here in the USA. There will never be another like her. This is a lovely tribute. Lydi**
