Mother Wait For Me

Mother Wait For Me

A Poem by Dara

I imagine her

gazing out of the window

with eyes that cannot see.

A thousand miles away

all alone in her room

 the radio her only company.

My heart aches

to hold her hand

and share old memories.

But visitors

are not allowed

she is under quarantine.

God keep her strong

long enough to last

I implore, I beg, I plead.

When the madness ends

I'll run to your side

oh mother please wait

for me.

It sure is going to be a tough wait for all loved ones.
We must be the only country to shut the bars, restaurants, clubs, and leisure.
Low and behold today, the parks are full of people congregating and spreading the virus quicker and wider.
Why do we always do things in half measures in Britain.

Definitely, the Twilight Zone sums it up.
dearest Dara... your poem is so tender and sweet. The elderly
are precious. I am on the threshold of eternity. I am aging for
myself and my Mother. My Mom Edith Irene passed at the age of 58
from cancer in 1978. She was 17 when she gave birth to me.
It would be surreal for her to live through this air-borne CoronaVirus.
Our beautiful world has been hit with a life-threatening Virus.
Be safe and we will all pray for Divine Intervention. with love, Pat

What was it that the Tin Man said, "now I know I have a heart, for its breaking?" Dear Dara, my prayers are with you, my friend. And all my love, too.

The pain and anxiety really come through in this one. Most nursing homes are not allowing visitors, though. She should be safe.
