This reminded me of the movie, "Love is a Many Splendid Thing", of which I cried at the end of. It is truly all we really have in this world, and it can move mountains. The sailor and the sea - now that's love!

As Maya Angelou also once said, “We need joy as we need air. We need love as we need water. We need each other as we need the earth we share.” Thank you, as always, for sharing your thoughts, Kelly!
Mmmm i guess .... it is always an experience when we give away our heart....just the tears are something we need to learn ... to understand maybe they will show us a path to find the one.. maybe someday ..
Beautiful poem...thank you for sharing...

Yes, sometimes I think I have spent the better part of my life searching for the right one. It can be all consuming but one thing I have learned that if we are patient, the right one will come along. Thank you again. May your journey to love be a smooth one!

I am very happy that my poem had that effect on you. As I get older I realize more and more that material things are so inconsequential. At the end of the day and even our life, it will be the love we have given and received that we remember. I hope that you are having a blissful, peaceful weekend! :-)

Call me old, but I hear Joe Cocker in the beginning of this. Wasn't that a nice song, too!
But like your second stanza, love can be both liberating and have one feeling adrift and lost.

I think I was also channeling a song by Jackie Wilson as well. I often include two eagles when I write a love poem because a poet friend of mine, Droc, wrote one for me in which he compared us to two eagles. So good of you to share your thoughts with me. I do appreciate it very much!

Yes, we were very close. I miss him and reread his poetry often.
Rythm and flow, not unlike the subject you've chosen for this delightful little ditty. Soaring ,tears... no other emotion covers both ends of the spectrum does it ?
