Should I stay or should I go?

My heart says yes but my mind says ‘no’.

To love is noble but can drain the soul.

Should I stay or should I go?

Love is gentle, love is pure,

it gives us peace of mind and more.

But love can be fickle, it can be blind

and love can dwindle over time.

Yet the look in your eyes and loving smile

make me want to stay awhile.

And while holding you close, this I know

I could never be the first to go.

Brilliant poem Dara. Absolutely true. Absolutely flawless rhythm and rhyming too. These dilemmas are so gut wrenching. When the mind and the heart are at war making a decision is never, ever easy. I made a tough decision like this recently ='( I don't think my heart has ever hated my brain so much.
Emotions aside though, this is a fantastic poem.
