A Snowy Day

A Snowy Day

A Poem by Dara

Soft as

eiderdown,

snowflakes gently cascade

like frozen stars pillowing the ground.

The proud old oaks, coated in ice and snow,

shimmer with delight

giving their blessing

to Mother Nature’s

work below.

that's about as positive an attitude can take on winter ..in my retirement i fled the dread of it on the very cold, snowy plains of SD .. your poem rightfully inspires appreciation in me .. and funny thing .. here in AR it snows very little and yesterday we had our first .. a half inch that is still here this morning .. i stayed in the cabin all day yesterday and justified my wonderful laziness by the snow ... today i am now resolved to venture forth and do a little this and a little that ;))
